So, I was trawling the interwebs (as one does) and saw a bunch of stuff about “Swiss” and “SwissMovt” attached to, like, luggage and…stuff. Then BAM! LOEWE pops up. My brain kinda short-circuited for a sec. Like, what’s the connection? Is LOEWE suddenly making *luggage* with Swiss watch innards? I mean, imagine your suitcase ticking… weird.
Okay, deep breaths. The snippets provided are all over the place. We’ve got free shipping on “Malas Swiss Move” (that’s Portuguese for Swiss Move luggage, FYI, because I’m basically fluent…okay, maybe I Googled it). Then we have LOEWE’s bags described as having “ergonomic shapes” and “tactile leathers.” So, basically, fancy, touchy-feely bags. And then… back to more luggage. My head hurts.
So, here’s my theory, and it’s probably completely wrong, but hey, that’s what personal opinions are for, right? Maybe… just maybe… someone is trying to associate the “Swiss” brand (which, let’s face it, screams quality and precision, think Swiss watches, Swiss Army knives, Swiss chocolate… mmm, chocolate) with *everything*. Like, slapping “Swiss” on luggage to make it sound more durable and reliable. Clever, I guess.
And then, LOEWE. Where does it fit in? Well, maybe someone just randomly dropped LOEWE’s name in the mix when they were talking about bags in general. Or, perhaps, LOEWE actually *does* have a bag design that’s inspired by Swiss movement or something equally esoteric. I wouldn’t put it past them. They’re fancy like that.
The whole thing kinda reminds me of that time I tried to build a shelf from IKEA. I had the “instruction manual” (and I use that term loosely) and all the pieces, but somehow it ended up looking like a modern art sculpture. This article is kinda like that. All the pieces are here, but the final product… well, it’s a bit of a mess.
Anyway, back to the Swiss Movement LOEWE bag. I’m still not entirely sure what it is, but now I kinda *want* to know. Maybe it’s a figment of my overactive imagination. Maybe it’s a real thing. Or maybe… it’s just really good marketing.
