Peekaboo ISeeU

How do you feel about Babatunde’s impact on trap music and the countless clones it’s inspired? What’re some of the newer trends you’re seeing in the scene that you like/dislike?

First off, let’s get one thing straight: “clone Peekaboo” is, like, a *thing* now. You see it everywhere. I mean, just look at this random assortment of digital crumbs I found: Someone’s making tunes on OnlineSequencer.net (peek-a-boo themed, apparently?). Then there’s Kendrick Lamar dropping a track called “peekaboo” with AzChike (fire, BTW, you should check it out). AND someone’s got a GitHub repo called “Peekaboo- development” for… HDClone stuff? Wait, wha?

See? Already messy.

It gets even weirder when you remember that “Peekaboo ISeeU” is apparently a discussion prompt about some dude named Babatunde and his impact on trap music and all the clones he’s, uh, *spawned*. Clones of *music*, not actual, you know, *physical* clones. Although, imagine a world where we could clone musicians. That’d be wild. Imagine a cloned Beyonce just endlessly pumping out hits? Terrifying, but also… potentially lucrative. I digress.

The whole “clone” thing in music, especially trap, is interesting, right? Like, you hear a sound, and then suddenly EVERYONE’S using that same damn sound. It’s like, did they even try to be original? I dunno, maybe I’m just being a grumpy old (not that old!) dude yelling at clouds. But sometimes it feels like creativity takes a backseat to just… copying what’s popular. Makes ya wonder if anyone’s actually trying to innovate anymore.

But then again, who am I to judge? Maybe it’s just evolution, man. Music evolving and adapting and, yeah, sometimes cloning itself. It’s a bit like that GitHub thing, I guess. People building on each other’s code, right? Forking and merging and all that jazz.

Speaking of GitHub and forms getting submitted… that feels like a completely random aside, but hey, that’s the internet for ya. Everything’s connected, somehow. Maybe the person submitting that form is secretly working on a robot that only plays trap music clones? You never know!

Ultimately, this whole “clone Peekaboo” thing, whether it’s music, code, or some abstract concept of influence, it boils down to imitation. And imitation, well, it’s the sincerest form of flattery, right? …Unless it’s just lazy. Jury’s still out on that one.
