First off, you got the whole “feminine” angle. They *really* push that. Like, the descriptions are all about “sensuality” and “authenticity” and women “who seek aromas.” What *does* that even mean, “seek aromas?” Sounds kinda pretentious, no? But hey, maybe I’m just not sophisticated enough. I mostly seek snacks.
Then there’s the whole “inspired by fashion” thing. Okay, I get it. D&G is a fashion house, duh. But does that *really* translate into a smell? Like, can you *smell* a sequin dress? I’m confused.
And the names! “Light Blue,” “The One,” “Homme Intenso” (okay, that’s for dudes, but still). They’re all so…generic, almost. Like, they could be selling anything. Where’s the creativity, guys?
Oh, and speaking of dudes… they got colognes too! Apparently, there’s some new fragrance called “Devotion for Men” coming out in March 2025. Like, seriously? 2025? That’s, like, ages away! Why even tell me now? Marketing, I guess. *eye roll*
I guess the OG perfume, the one from 1992, “Dolce & Gabbana Parfum,” is supposed to be all “audacious and sophisticated.” And it’s got “warm notes with a floral touch.” Sounds…nice? I mean, I haven’t smelled it, so what do I know? Maybe it’s amazing. Maybe it smells like your grandma’s dusty potpourri. Who can say?
And then there’s the whole “Italian jasmine, Indian sambac jasmine” thing. Like they are trying to sound all fancy and exotic. I mean jasmine is jasmine, right? Or is it like that thing with different types of coffee where people can actually taste the difference? I’m more of a instant coffee kinda gal myself so I’m probably the wrong person to ask.
