I’ve been noticing this trend – “Inspired by Valentino” – popping up *everywhere*. Oakcha’s “Heart of Rome,” Majesty’s Fragrances, and even some companies just calling their line “Fancy collections.” It’s all about capturing that Valentino vibe without breaking the bank. Clever, right? I think so.
And the thing is, Valentino’s got such a diverse range, it makes it easy. You got your Born in Roma, all vanilla-fruity-woody, and then you got the Valentina, which, apparently, is all about “passion and allure.” I mean, who *doesn’t* want a little passion and allure, am I right? And now they have Powdery Orange Flower Voce Viva! It sounds so sophisticated… I’ve never tried that one though, maybe I should.
See, I think this “inspired by” thing is kinda genius. Valentino sets the bar for luxury, and then these other companies come in and make it accessible. It’s like, democratization of fragrance or something. Plus, sometimes, I gotta admit, I think the “inspired by” versions tweak the original just a *little* bit, maybe make it last longer, or add a touch of something different. I definitely think some of these are actually better then the originals!
Like, that thing about Majesty’s Fragrances being oil-based and non-oily? Huh? How does that even work? I gotta try that out one day, you know? Perfume oils are supposed to last longer anyway, so if they nail the scent profile *and* make it last? We’re talking win-win, people!
The one I saw about Born In Roma Yellow Dream, though? That’s like, *major* savings. From $125 down to $29? Sign me UP! Although, uh oh, it says sold out. Maybe that’s a testament to how good these “inspired by” things are.
