I saw this email, like, advertising their “No Logo Series Fall 24 Exclusive Release.” Seriously? Exclusive *and* no logo? Makes ya think, doesn’t it? Are they trying to be all, “We’re so chic, you’ll *know* it’s Balenciaga just by the *vibe*”? It’s almost…dare I say… pretentious? But then again, it’s Balenciaga, so maybe we should expect nothing less.
Someone pointed out their women’s shoes are all about that “minimalist and refined” look, using like, “malleable leather and natural materials.” Which, okay, sounds fancy. But isn’t that what *everyone* claims these days? I mean, I’m all for quality, but at what cost, ya know?
And then there’s the whole fake Balenciaga thing. Apparently, people are making replicas. Which, LOL, good luck trying to pass those off if you actually know what you’re looking at. But I guess if you’re just trying to impress the, ahem, *less discerning* folks, maybe it’ll work. Still, seems like a hassle, wouldn’t you rather just get something cute that’s actually affordable? Just a thought.
Oh! And those “Zero” shoes? The “barefoot” ones? $630 to feel like you’re walking barefoot? I’m pretty sure I can achieve that for free by, you know, actually walking barefoot. Just sayin’. Maybe I’m just too practical.
Anyway, back to the “no logo” thing. I kinda get it, maybe. It’s like, a rebellion against the whole in-your-face branding that’s been going on for so long. A subtle flex. But at the end of the day, it’s still Balenciaga, and it’s still gonna cost you a pretty penny. Whether you like the look or not, it’s probably going to sell out regardless.
