I’ve seen it EVERYWHERE. Reddit’s got threads on clones (because, duh, Tom Ford ain’t cheap!), like, “Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. : r/fragranceclones”. Which, fair enough, who *can* afford that stuff all the time? Then there’s the descriptions, all fancy-schmancy: “acordes sofisticados de bergamota, jasmim, ylang ylang e coco, com uma projeção sensual e requintada.” I mean, okay, *bermaga-what-now*? Jasmine and coconut, yeah, I get that. Smells nice, probably.
Apparently, the nose behind it is Natalie Gracia-Cetto, whoever *that* is. No offense, Natalie, but I’m just a regular gal trying to smell decent without taking out a second mortgage. And it launched in 2016, so it’s not *exactly* new, but still holding on strong in the perfume world. Which is kinda impressive, when you think about how quickly trends change.
Now, the whole “inspired by private islands and warm days that last forever” spiel… come ON. Marketing, people! I’m sure it smells good, maybe even *really* good, but it’s still just perfume. Don’t go expecting to be transported to the Bahamas just by spritzing it on. Tho, maybe it kinda works. Like, you can almost imagine, right?
They even have a lighter version, Eau de Soleil Blanc. More bitter orange, neroli, and bergamot. Sounds kinda… orangey? Maybe less coconut-y? Honestly, it all kinda blends together after a while.
Here’s my take: it’s probably a nice perfume. If you got the cash to splash, go for it. But don’t feel like you *need* it to have a good summer. There are, like, a *million* other perfumes (and clone perfumes!) out there that smell just as good, or maybe even better, and won’t break the bank.
Plus, let’s be real, most people probably won’t even know the difference between Soleil Blanc and some cheaper dupe. They’ll just think you smell good. And that’s the point, right? To smell good?
